Duties
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex medical conditions, including acute pain management, cardiac monitoring, and respiratory support.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, vital sign monitoring, and physiological evaluations to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately while maintaining aseptic technique and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and coordination of services such as dialysis, wound care, or IV infusion therapy.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems like Epic or Cerner for precise documentation of patient care activities and medical records.
- Assist with invasive procedures including catheterization, suturing, tube feeding management, and specimen collection/processing.
- Monitor ventilators and other critical equipment to ensure optimal functioning during inpatient stays in ICU or Level I Trauma Center settings.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current state registration.
- Critical care experience in ICU or Level I Trauma Center preferred; experience in emergency medicine or trauma medicine is highly valued.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/10) and CPT coding is advantageous.
- Demonstrated expertise in medical-surgical nursing, telemetry monitoring, and acute care procedures.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring hospice & palliative medicine.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and advanced life support protocols (BLS).
