Position Summary
The Non-CDL Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate delivery of fresh and frozen seafood products from our processing facility in New Bedford to distribution facilities in the Boston area and also surrounding local communities. This position plays a key role in maintaining product quality by following proper food safety and temperature control procedures while providing exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Safely operate company delivery vehicles that do not require a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Complete daily delivery routes, including trips to the Boston area, RI and local customer deliveries.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload seafood products while maintaining required refrigerated temperatures.
- Verify orders for accuracy before departure and upon delivery.
- Obtain delivery signatures and complete all required delivery documentation.
- Inspect the delivery vehicle before and after each shift and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of delivery vehicles in accordance with food safety standards.
- Follow all company policies, traffic laws, and applicable DOT regulations.
- Communicate with dispatch and warehouse staff regarding delivery status, delays, or customer concerns.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service during each delivery.
- Assist with loading, packaging, warehouse organization, and other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous delivery driving experience preferred.
- Experience delivering food products or refrigerated goods is a plus.
- Ability to safely operate refrigerated box trucks and delivery vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift 100+ pounds with assistance.
- Ability to move product using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Frequently enter and exit delivery vehicles throughout the day.
- Ability to work in refrigerated environments and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position with possible overtime
- Daily deliveries to Boston and surrounding local customers.
- Work in refrigerated warehouse and processing environments.
- Must follow all company food safety, sanitation, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
This position is essential to ensuring our customers receive fresh, high-quality seafood products safely, accurately, and on time.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
