Role description
We are seeking an experienced Sybase DBA to manage administer monitor and optimize Sybase ASEIQ databases in missioncritical environments The ideal candidate will be responsible for database installation configuration performance tuning backup and recovery security administration troubleshooting and supporting database migration initiatives
Key Responsibilities
Database Administration
Install configure upgrade and patch Sybase ASEIQ databases
Monitor database health availability and performance
Manage database objects such as tables indexes stored procedures and triggers
Perform capacity planning and storage management
Performance Management
Monitor and analyze database performance
Identify and resolve bottlenecks
Optimize SQL queries indexes and database configurations
Conduct proactive performance tuning activities
Backup Recovery
Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies
Execute database restore and disaster recovery procedures
Ensure business continuity and data protection
Security Administration
Create and maintain database users roles and permissions
Implement database security policies and compliance requirements
Audit database access and activities
Production Support
Troubleshoot databaserelated incidents and outages
Provide L2L3 support for production environments
Work closely with application infrastructure and support teams
Database Migration Upgrades
Support database migrations upgrades and consolidations
Assist with SybasetoOracle or other RDBMS migration projects when required
Validate database integrity following migrations
Automation Monitoring
Develop scripts for automation and monitoring
Maintain operational documentation and standard operating procedures
Implement monitoring and ing solutions
Mandatory Skills
Strong handson experience with Sybase ASE andor Sybase IQ
Expertise in installation configuration and administration of Sybase databases
Strong knowledge of backup restore and disaster recovery processes
Experience in performance tuning and optimization
Database security and user management
Proficiency in LinuxUnix environments
Troubleshooting and rootcause analysis skills

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, performance and internal equity.

Benefits
Compensation range: $80,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
