We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated CDL Instructor to join our team and inspire the next generation of professional drivers. Duties
- Conduct engaging classroom instruction on topics such as air brake systems, tanker operations, and tractor-trailer safety protocols
- Lead hands-on driving sessions with students in various truck configurations, including tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles
- Assess student progress through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement
- Ensure all training complies with federal and state regulations related to commercial driving licenses (CDL) requirements
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and certification progress
- Stay current with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in adult education and truck driving instruction
- Promote a culture of safety by emphasizing defensive driving techniques and adherence to traffic laws during all training activities
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial trucking, including tractor-trailer operation and tanker loads
- Valid CDL license with endorsements such as air brake, tanker, or other relevant certifications
- Demonstrated teaching or adult education experience, preferably in a classroom or hands-on setting
- Strong knowledge of federal regulations governing commercial drivers’ licenses (FMCSA standards)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively instruct diverse student populations
- Prior classroom experience with a focus on driver training or technical education is highly desirable
- Ability to demonstrate safe driving practices while providing clear guidance to students
