Position Details
Located in St. Charles, IL, this manufacturing site is seeking a meticulous Lab Technician for a temporary 6-month term concluding in September. You will contribute to product innovation by managing lab equipment, generating precise samples, and upholding rigorous safety and operational standards. This position is ideal for individuals with a scientific or chemistry background eager to build practical expertise within a professional, expanding organization.
Core Responsibilities

Manage the setup and operation of extruders and associated laboratory machinery

Generate lab samples by utilizing spraying, grinding, and extrusion techniques

Create metallic samples for bonding trials through the use of bonding mixers

Develop formulations based on standard NAFTA guidelines

Ensure consistent quality and performance during lab runs by identifying and reporting issues to management

Perform equipment maintenance, cleaning, and disassembly following established lockout and sanitation protocols

Help maintain a safe and organized lab environment for the entire team

Document and communicate findings using standard computer software
Candidate Qualifications

Degree at the Associate or Bachelor level, ideally in Chemistry or a related scientific field

Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing or laboratory setting

Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality control and meticulous attention to detail

Proficiency in basic computer tasks for reporting and data management

Maintain consistent attendance while demonstrating the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Prioritize safety by strictly adhering to all PPE and operational guidelines
Preferred Skills

Background in chemical, plastics, or coatings manufacturing

Prior experience utilizing SAP software
Essential Requirements

Commitment to the entire contract duration from April through September

Ability to successfully complete a 7-year background check and 4-panel drug screen
