Responsibilities
- Operate bakery machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and packaging machines.
- Prepare ingredients and follow standardized recipes to produce consistent baked goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, adhering strictly to HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
- Conduct quality checks throughout the baking process to ensure products meet specifications for texture, appearance, and taste.
- Handle materials and products manually with proper lifting techniques, utilizing material handling equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues with baking equipment promptly to minimize downtime.
- Follow all safety protocols, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) use, to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Requirements
- Prior experience in food production, bakery operations, or culinary environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management systems such as HACCP and GMP is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills and basic math proficiency are beneficial for adjusting equipment settings and measuring ingredients accurately.
- Familiarity with machine operation, mechanical knowledge, and food processing techniques will support your success in this role.
- Valid certification or experience operating material handling equipment like forklifts is a plus.
