Responsibilities
- Assist with menu planning to meet dietary needs and preferences while maintaining nutritional standards
- Prepare and cook meals following established recipes, portion sizes, and food safety guidelines
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, sanitation, and hygiene practices throughout all stages of meal preparation
- Support dietary department operations by serving meals efficiently and courteously to residents or customers
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations at all times
- Contribute to catering events or special meal preparations as needed
- Demonstrate excellent knife skills and food handling techniques during meal prep and cooking activities
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary or kitchen settings, including dietary aide or restaurant experience
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
- Strong understanding of the food industry standards for handling, serving, and storing food products
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
