Position: Part-Time Teacher's Aide
Grade Levels: Primary Grades (PreK-2)
Schedule: Option of 1-3 days/week (7-21 hours/week) during the school year
St. Gregory School in Zelienople is seeking caring, compassionate, and enthusiastic individuals to serve as a Teacher's Aide in the primary grades. The role includes supporting the classroom teacher to create a safe, nurturing, organized, and engaging learning environment for young learners. The aide plays an essential role in fostering children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development while helping to cultivate a classroom community that reflects the mission of DOP Catholic schools. The candidate should be able to collaborate and work closely and effectively with other teachers and staff in an effort to contribute to developing curiosity, creativity, respectful relationships, and child-centered learning within the primary classroom.
This role is especially rewarding for a grandparent, retired person, or stay-at-home parent who is looking for a part-time out-of-the-home role. Teaching experience or related degree is beneficial but not required.
Qualifications:
Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field is helpful but not required.
Prior experience working with young children in some capacity is required.
Understanding of child development, classroom management, and developmentally appropriate and educational best practices.
Ability to support teacher and student needs throughout the school day in a positive and energetic manner.
Willingness to model and impart Catholic values and practices, as well as create a positive learning environment required.
Must be able to work well with others as a team member, exhibit flexibility, and treat
children with respect and compassion.
Note: Compensation is hourly.
