```Duties```
- Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG codes to medical procedures and diagnoses
- Enter coded data into billing systems for reimbursement purposes
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims for payment
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any billing discrepancies or denials
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries or disputes
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations

- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical coding preferred
- Proven experience as a medical biller or coder in a healthcare setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG coding systems, and medical billing processes
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare professionals, insurance companies, and patients
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
