Toolmaker/Machinist (CNC and/or Manual)
Toolex is looking for an experienced toolmaker who enjoys precision machining, critical thinking, and solving new manufacturing challenges. Whether your background is primarily in CNC machining, manual machining, or a combination of both, we'd like to hear from you.
We specialize in low-volume, high-variety precision machining. Instead of running the same production part day after day, you'll manufacture unique tooling, fixtures, prototypes, and precision components for customers across a wide range of industries.
If you take pride in producing quality work, enjoy tackling challenging parts, and appreciate the variety that comes with custom manufacturing, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do
- Program, set up and operate CNC and/or manual mills and lathes.
- Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings and CAD models.
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Collaborate with teammates to plan machining strategies and coordinate secondary operations.
- Troubleshoot machining challenges and identify efficient manufacturing solutions.
- Select, change, sharpen, and maintain cutting tools as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Produce high-quality work that consistently meets customer specifications.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking toolmakers with practical machining experience and a commitment to producing quality work.
Successful candidates will have experience in many of the following areas:
- CNC machining and/or manual machining
- Milling and/or turning
- Blueprint reading
- Precision measuring and inspection equipment
- Working to close tolerances
- Machining tool steels, stainless steels, aluminum, and engineering plastics
Experience with every process isn't required. We're looking for someone with a solid machining foundation, good problem-solving skills, and a willingness to continue expanding their capabilities.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys making a variety of precision parts, takes ownership of their work, and prefers custom manufacturing over long production runs.
Grow Your Skills
At Toolex, learning doesn't stop after you're hired.
If your experience is primarily in milling, we'll provide opportunities to broaden your skills into turning. If your background is in turning, you'll have opportunities to gain milling experience. As your skills grow, you'll also have exposure to additional machining and manufacturing processes.
Our goal is to build versatile machinists who enjoy solving challenging manufacturing problems.
Why Work at Toolex?
- Low-volume, high-variety work that keeps every week interesting.
- Challenging precision parts instead of repetitive production runs.
- Opportunities to expand your machining skills and work with different equipment.
- Small team where your experience, ideas, and craftsmanship make a difference.
- Stable company serving customers across a diverse range of industries.
