The Montessori School of Waukesha (MSOW), an independent, nonprofit Montessori school serving students from Toddler through Middle School, is seeking an Interim Director of Students for the 2026–27 academic year.
The Director of Students provides leadership and coordination for student support services, special education partnerships, enrollment support, student records, and family engagement. This position works closely with students, families, faculty, administrators, and outside agencies to ensure students receive the support they need to thrive within a Montessori environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Support & Services
- Coordinate support for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, Behavior Plans, and other intervention plans.
- Collaborate with teachers and families to develop and implement student support strategies.
- Attend and represent the school at student support meetings.
- Monitor student progress and assist with academic, behavioral, social, and emotional interventions.
Special Education Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison with service providers.
- Coordinate services provided by specialists, therapists, evaluators, and outside agencies.
- Manage Special Needs Scholarship Program (SNSP) compliance and documentation.
Student Records & Compliance
- Maintain accurate, confidential student records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable student records regulations and reporting requirements.
Enrollment & Family Partnership
- Support enrollment and placement decisions, particularly for students requiring additional services.
- Participate in tours, open houses, and enrollment events.
- Partner with families to support student growth and success.
School Leadership
- Collaborate with the Head of School, Director of Faculty and Staff, School Secretary, and faculty.
- Participate in school events, professional development, and community-building activities.
- Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement efforts related to student services.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of child development and educational support services.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families, faculty, and community partners.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills and proficiency with electronic recordkeeping systems.
- Montessori experience or familiarity preferred.
