We are currently seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our outpatient neurosurgery clinic. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with patients, is comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment, and takes pride in providing excellent patient care and support.
As an MA, you will work closely with the physician and clinical staff to help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic. Responsibilities include both direct patient care and administrative duties.

- Neurosurgical Consultations: Evaluation and treatment of a wide range of neurological conditions affecting the brain and spine.
- Follow-up Care: Continued monitoring of patient progress, symptom management, and ongoing treatment planning.
- Patient Education: Resources and guidance to help patients and families better understand their condition, explore treatment options, and practice effective self-care strategies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinical Support
- Assist with patient intake and prepare patients for examinations and consultations.
- Obtain and document medical history, medication lists, and chief complaints.
- Perform clinical tasks within the scope of a MA, including wound care, suture or staple removal, dressing changes, and other physician-directed procedures as applicable.
Patient Care & Communication
- Greet patients professionally and create a welcoming, compassionate environment.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to patient questions, relay messages, and communicate with pharmacies, specialists, imaging centers, and other healthcare providers.
- Assist patients with scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating referrals, diagnostic testing, and procedures.
Documentation & Administrative Support
- Accurately document patient information within the EMR.
- Assist providers with clinical documentation and maintain complete, accurate, and organized patient records.
- Maintain inventory of medical supplies and exam room equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Follow all HIPAA regulations and clinic policies while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications & Skills
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred (or equivalent clinical experience).
- Previous experience in a medical office or outpatient clinic strongly preferred; surgical or specialty clinic experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures.
- Proficiency with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks and Cerner experience is a plus).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
- Typing proficiency of at least 60 words per minute.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time: 40 hours per week
- Hours: 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday
- Location: On-site, in person
