American Traveler is seeking an Inpatient Rehab Speech Therapist with ASHA certification and independent MBS proficiency for an acute care and SNF setting in Hawaii.

Inpatient rehabilitation setting within an acute care hospital, with possible SNF and outpatient referral involvement
-
Performs Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBS) in radiology independently, without radiologist supervision
-
Uses Meditech for inpatient documentation and paper/pencil charting for outpatient documentation

Transitioning to Epic EMR starting November 1, 2025
-
Generally set schedule, 5 days per week, likely including 1 weekend day

Possible floating to other units, departments, or another facility depending on census and staffing needs

Current BLS certification required

ASHA certification required
-
Minimum 2 years of experience required, preferably in SNF or rehab hospital settings

Acute care experience required

Must be independent and proficient in completing Modified Barium Swallow Studies without radiologist supervision

Hawaii state license in appropriate discipline required by start of assignment; license required if applicable

Must be able to apply for Hawaii state license upon acceptance of offer if not already active

Provides inpatient rehabilitation speech therapy services with a focus on swallow studies and acute care needs

Training in EMR documentation and orientation to rehab area expectations provided

Must report to Employee Health 48-72 hours prior to start of assignment for an in-person appointment in Hilo

Candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to accommodate Friday morning Employee Health appointment
