Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various pharmacy settings, including LTC pharmacy and hospital environments, and possess a strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care. This role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications to patients, particularly in critical care and acute care situations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Conduct patient intake processes, ensuring accurate medication administration and documentation.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications and health management.
- Maintain accurate records of medication inventory and assist in the management of pharmacy supplies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication therapy management.
- Stay updated on pharmaceutical developments, regulations, and best practices within the industry.
Requirements
- Previous pharmacy technician experience is required; experience in chemotherapy mixing is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care practices.
- Familiarity with chemotherapy, chemotherapy mixing, chemotherapy protocols is a must.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while providing high-quality patient service.
