Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting patrons, answering questions, and offering product recommendations
- Ability to encourage upselling opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented
- Assist with inventory management through stock replenishment and inventory counts
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and cash handling procedures with precision and integrity
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
- Support the store team with basic retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and totals
- Engage in product knowledge sharing to educate customers about store offerings in a friendly manner
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations in a fast-paced retail environment
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math
- Experience in food establishments or similar restaurant environments is advantageous
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership qualities are beneficial for growth opportunities
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform physical tasks associated with stocking and merchandising, and deep-cleaning
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills that create positive shopping experiences
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Food Handler's Permit
