Overview
As a result of continued growth Bericap SC, LLC has a full-time, salary opening for a Production Supervisor reporting to the Lead Production Supervisor. The purpose of this role is to ensure that all production duties are undertaken safely and in a timely manner. This will comprise of supervising production personnel (to include off shift employees) and making production related decisions in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
General Responsibilities
- Ensures that all work undertaken is carried out safely and without injury
- Ensures Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed at all times (no jewelry, cell phone, nicotine in any form, etc.)
- Ensure all quality, food safety, safety, environmental as well as other Company policies and procedures are followed
- Ensure that all quality, food safety, safety, and environmental issues are reported to the appropriate manager or supervisor
- Housekeeping duties performed throughout the shift
- Ability to lift 35 pounds unassisted and while standing/ walking for duration of shift
- Develop, implement, and support Continuous Improvements Programs
- Initiates corrective action for non-conformances
- Identify Opportunities for Improvement and enter into See It, Sort It, Report It system
- Able and willing to wear appropriate PPE as required
- Duties as assigned per Lead Production Supervisor
Personnel Supervision
- Supervise all hourly production personnel in regard to scheduling, shift coverage, and vacation requests
- Approve time off requests and payroll timesheets in an accurate and timely manner through DayForce
- Manage production personnel performance with the support of the Operations Manager; to include documentation
- Conduct performance reviews as per company standard
- Conduct shift start meetings and shift hand offs
- Distribute daily work assignments
- Keep a record of all performance-related events throughout the year (good and bad) including e-mails, notes, letter, etc.
- Responsible to ensure all departmental training is completed, and all employees are adequately trained for their positions
- Plan, document and carry out sufficient cross training to provide adequate back up of all job functions
- Administers plant rules and policies in a fair and consistent manner
Shift Responsibilities
- Regularly monitor shift output to ensure attainment of schedule and customer delivery targets are met
- Ensures that shift production is achieving quality standards through personal inspection and quality assurance reports
- Input shift production data accurately and on a timely basis
- Ensure all equipment and tooling are running to standard cycle and cavitation, report any deviations to appropriate resource
- Review production data in Qlikview (Production Management System) to ensure standards are being met and develop corrective action for under target products
- Confirm lines are set up per schedule in WE3 (Labeling System) and Docushare (Procedure Management System)
- Ensure quality checks are being performed by injection operators in SPC
- Confirm notes/events (i.e. downtime, repairs, staffing issues) are being documented in OPS Tracker (Operations Efficiency Tracking System)
- Conduct daily GEMBA walk exchange with outgoing supervisor
- 75% of the day will be spent on the production floor
Skills
- Basic injection knowledge/skills to include troubleshooting of equipment
- Self-starter and team player
- Good communication skills to include verbal and written
- Proficient computer skills to include all office programs
Experience
- 3-5 years manufacturing experience in a supervisor role preferred
- 5 years manufacturing experience in a production role preferred
- Injection molding experience is preferred
