Job Summary
As a Heavy Equipment and Commerical Truck Shop Mechanic, you will be the backbone of our operations, ensuring that our fleet runs smoothly and efficiently. Your expertise will play a crucial role in diagnosing and repairing various mechanical issues, keeping our trucks in top-notch condition. You’ll work in a dynamic environment where your heavy equipment and commercial truck skills will directly contribute to the safety and reliability of our transportation services.
What you’ll do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and commercial trucks, including engines, transmissions, and brakes
- Utilize diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter, to troubleshoot electrical systems and components
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed and parts used
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in truck technology
Basic qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in commercial truck and heavy equipment repair
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment, including an ohmmeter
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience as a mechanic in the commercial trucking industry
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diesel engines
- Relevant certifications or training
