American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Observation Unit (Chest Pain/Critical Decision) position at a Level II Trauma hospital in Marquette, MI, requiring med/surg experience and telemetry competency.

Work in a 10-bed Observation Unit (Chest Pain/Critical Decision) at a 225-bed specialty care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center

Adult-only patient population (18+ years) presenting with observation-status conditions such as chest pain, asthma exacerbation, TIA, abdominal pain, urinary issues, blood sugar issues, DVT/PE, cellulitis, post-procedural monitoring, and minor trauma

Approximate patient ratio of 1:5 (no defined ratios)

Cardiac monitors used for patient care

Charting via Cerner (experience preferred)

Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts

Mix of day and night shifts available (5 days / 5 nights per schedule)

72 hours per pay period (0.9 FTE)

Weekend and holiday coverage required
-
Floating required to Medical, Cardiac, and Neuro-Ortho units

No on-call or mandated call requirements

13-week contract

Active MI RN license required
-
Current AHA certifications required: BLS and ACLS

NIH Stroke Scale competency required
-
Telemetry/ECG competency required
-
TNCC and ENPC certifications optional but welcomed
-
Minimum 1 year of med/surg experience required

Telemetry experience preferred

BSN preferred
-
Social Security number required for consideration

Must reside 60+ miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rate

Hospital specialties include Heart & Vascular, Cancer Care, Brain & Spine, Rehab, Behavioral Health, Digestive Health, Bariatric Medicine, Women's Health, and Pediatrics

Unit is supervised by the ED Director

Orientation is conducted on a bi-weekly schedule

Galaxy blue scrubs required

Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months

Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
