Generations ObGyn PC is currently seeking someone to fill an AR/Billing Specialist position in our busy ParkWest office.
Candidate must have a strong working knowledge of medical billing, ICD-10/CPT coding, and AR follow-up.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assign and prioritize daily billing tasks
- Monitor accounts receivable, generate reports, and communicate with providers
- Ensure use of proper CPT and ICD-10 codes
- Effectively communicate with patients regarding billing questions and establishment of payment plans
- Oversee the transmission of claims to multiple insurance plans
- Prepare patient statements and review accounts for collection
- Follow up on denied claims and claims needing additional information for payment
- Performing follow-up calls to insurance companies and/or on-line follow up and tracking of claims
- Utilizing various AR reports to target aged balances for collection in order to meet and maintain performance goals
- Communicate with insurance carriers, obtain EOBs, respond to medical records requests, and other tasks associated with medical billing office
- Exhibiting excellent customer service and communication skills, as well as a positive attitude towards patients, other staff members, insurance companies, and all other company contacts
Requirements:
- 2-3 years medical A/R experience required, OBGYN preferred
- Coding certification (CCS, CCS-P, CPC) a plus
- A strong understanding of ICD 10 and CPT coding
- Understanding of responsibilities associated with a medical billing office
- Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Strong communication skills and a team player
- Ability to apply policies/procedures/principals to solve problems and handle a variety of situations
- Additional skills needed include the ability to work well in a team environment, exercise good judgement and creative thinking skills, must be detail oriented and have a positive attitude.
