Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality of care in a comfortable and efficient environment. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with dentists and other healthcare professionals to provide support during various dental procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary tools and materials.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all supplies are ready for use.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other necessary information.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups.
- Maintain infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Utilize dental software systems such as Dentrix for managing patient records and appointments.
- Provide education to patients regarding oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Support the front office with tasks such as answering phones or assisting with billing when necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry is essential.
- Experience with medical coding, infection control practices, and medical imaging is advantageous.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix or Epic is highly desirable.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately and efficiently.
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on patient interaction.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are critical for success in this role.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
