Cumming Health & Rehab is seeking a part time Dining Room Host/Hostess to provide courteous, respectful, and timely dining services to our residents at our Skilled Nursing Facility. This role supports resident satisfaction and nutritional care by assisting with meal service, taking orders, serving meals, and maintaining a clean, welcoming dining environment in accordance with dietary, safety, and infection control standards.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 10:30am to 2:30pm shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet residents warmly and assist them to their dining seats as needed
- Take resident meal orders accurately and communicate them to the dietary team
- Serve meals, beverages, and snacks in a timely and professional manner
- Assist residents as needed while maintaining dignity and independence
- Change tablecloths and reset tables between meals and as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room throughout meal service
- Maintain and restock the coffee and beverage bar, including supplies and condiments
- Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and infection control procedures
- Observe and report resident dining concerns, preferences, or changes in appetite to nursing or dietary staff
- Comply with resident dietary restrictions and special meal accommodations
- Assist with dining room setup and breakdown before and after meals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous food service, hospitality, or healthcare experience preferred
- Knowledge of safe food handling practices preferred (ServSafe a plus)
- Ability to interact compassionately with elderly and medically complex residents
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Ability to bend, reach, and push food service carts as needed
- Transport residents in wheelchairs to/from dining room for meals
