Role Summary-
We are seeking an experienced, independent Production Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will follow predetermined procedures to set up and operate conventional and CNC machinery, fabricating high-quality metallic and nonmetallic parts. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in precision shop safety, blueprint interpretation, and strict inspection techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Setup Operation: Set up and operate conventional and CNC lathes, turret lathes, engine lathes, and mills. Blueprint Interpretation: Read technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals to determine dimensions, sequence of operations, and close tolerances. Precision Controls: Calculate and set controls for speeds, feeds, depth of cut, and coolant flow. Find, load, and perform minor editing of NC programs. Quality Assurance: Inspect your own work using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, and height gages to verify part conformance. Specialized Assembly: Support specialized techniques when required, including ESD controls, resistance welding, soldering, and assembly under microscopes. Maintenance Support: Maintain and clean machining equipment, create tooling or fixtures as needed, and support other departments when assigned.
Qualifications Requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience: Minimum of six (6) years of experience operating and setting up conventional and CNC equipment. Technical Skills: Proven training in CNC machining, inspection techniques, and handling precision finished metal parts. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Fadal and Haas machines, or 4-Axis programming, is highly valued. Language Math: Strong English communication skills and proficiency with shop math (geometry, trigonometry, fractions, and ratios).Work Style: Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while maintaining a respectful, collaborative attitude with coworkers. Physical Demands Environment Frequent standing, walking, and precise hand movements in a fast-paced environment. Occasional lifting and moving of materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud machine shop noise levels.
