DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a reliable individual with a kind and positive attitude to join our office on the clinical side as a registered dental assistant (RDA)/orthodontic assistant (OA). Previous experience in orthodontics is good, but not required. We desire someone with a strong willingness to learn and work together with the doctor and team. We will train you to be proficient in orthodontics and look forward to meeting you soon! Dental assistants (DA) and new graduates are welcome to apply. Must be on the pathway towards becoming an RDA if not already an RDA/OA.
HOURS OF OPERATION AND HOURS PROPOSED
The position of clinical RDA/OA is full time and would include all of the clinical days and hours that we are seeing patients: Tuesday-Thursday and every other Friday (3.5 to 4 day schedule). No weekend hours.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assisting with indirect and direct bonding and debonding of orthodontic appliances including braces, clear aligner attachments, expanders and other appliances
- Placing and removing orthodontic archwires and ligature ties
- Taking and uploading orthodontic records including photographs, X-ray radiographs (pano/ceph) and intraoral digital scans
- Setting up and breaking down of treatment rooms
- Performing sterilization of dental instruments
- Educating patients on the orthodontic journey and answering any questions that they may have at the beginning, middle and end of treatment
- Answering patient calls, texts and emails and scheduling patients as needed
- Opening and closing duties of the office
- Participating in office marketing events to promote office within dental community
- Helping with various tasks to ensure smooth clinical flow of patients including welcoming and seating patients and other miscellaneous duties
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
- Valid RDA license
- Radiograph license
- BLS (first aid) certificate

Pay: $24.00 - $35.00 per hour
