AR/AP Bookkeeper
Location: Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: On-Site | Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
About the Company
Our client is an established and growing property management company based in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. They are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a busy real estate portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative office environment, takes ownership of their work, and can manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and ensure timely payment of invoices
- Maintain accurate tenant ledgers and payment records
- Record deposits and assist with accounts receivable activities
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare journal entries and account allocations
- Enter and maintain financial data within QuickBooks
- Support month-end accounting processes
- Generate reports and assist leadership with financial information as needed
- Communicate with tenants regarding rent payments and account inquiries
- Collaborate closely with the Controller and CFO on accounting activities
Qualifications
- 3+ years of bookkeeping, accounting, or AR/AP experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and terminology
- Experience using QuickBooks required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including filtering, sorting, and pivot tables
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
Preferred Experience
- Property management or real estate industry experience
- Experience working with tenant ledgers, rent collections, and property-related accounting
- Experience supporting multiple entities or properties
