Total Compensation Range: $75k-$90k (Varies depending on years of experience)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Clinical Supervisor to oversee the delivery of high-quality behavioral health services within a community-based outpatient mental health setting. This role involves providing leadership, guidance, and supervision to a team of clinicians who serve adults and adolescents with complex mental health needs, including individuals impacted by the justice system.
The Clinical Supervisor ensures that all services are clinically sound, culturally responsive, and in compliance with state and federal regulations. This role requires a strong background in social work, program management, and the implementation of evidence-based practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing clinical supervision, consultation, and performance feedback to therapists and case managers.
- Review and approve clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, assessments, and crisis intervention notes.
- Support staff in implementing effective therapeutic interventions and engagement strategies for individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders.
- Ensure that all clinical practices align with OMH and CCBHC standards and Medicaid billing requirements.
- Facilitate case reviews, team meetings, and interdisciplinary case conferences to promote coordinated, person-centered care.
- Conduct quality assurance audits and make recommendations for improving service delivery, workflow efficiency, and client outcomes.
- Maintain awareness of emerging trends in behavioral health, substance use treatment, and trauma-informed care to guide staff training and development.
- Participate in policy development, program evaluation, and compliance initiatives to strengthen clinical operations.
- Support the integration of culturally informed practices that reflect the diverse backgrounds and experiences of clients.
- Complete administrative reports and maintain accurate supervisory documentation as required.
- Engage in professional development activities and help foster a learning environment within the team.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
- Active New York State Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in good standing.
- Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a behavioral health or social service setting.
- At least three years of direct clinical experience with adults or youth experiencing serious mental illness and/or co-occurring disorders.
- Strong familiarity with OMH and CCBHC regulations, Medicaid billing requirements, and electronic health record (EHR/EMR) systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of family systems, cultural competency, and diversity-informed practice.
- Knowledge of evidence-based models such as motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and recovery-oriented approaches.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
