We are an orthopedic medical equipment company seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist who is familiar with Workers' Compensation Claims to join our dedicated team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing our accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with workers' compensation insurance claims. Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, payment processing, and account reconciliation using software such as QuickBooks
- Monitor outstanding balances and follow up with clients or customers through professional negotiation and phone etiquette to ensure timely collections.
- Perform detailed account analysis to identify discrepancies, resolve billing issues, and ensure compliance.
- Process journal entries related to revenue recognition, debits & credits, and double entry bookkeeping to maintain accurate financial records.
- Investigate workers' compensation claims thoroughly, analyzing all relevant documentation and medical reports to determine claim validity and liability.
- Conduct account reconciliation regularly to verify data accuracy across various financial systems like QuickBooks.
- Assist with month-end closing activities by preparing reports on accounts receivable aging, account analysis, and cash flow forecasts.
Skills
- Proven experience in accounts receivable management within a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or similar platforms; experience with financial software is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, CPT coding, ICD-10 codes, and medical billing processes is a plus for roles supporting healthcare clients.
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and professionally.
