JOB PURPOSE: To support the Business Administrator in the day-to-day financial operations of the parish and school by maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, assisting with reconciliations and reporting, and ensuring compliance with Archdiocesan accounting policies and established internal controls.
The Bookkeeper is a key component in helping the parish fulfill its mission by being a wise and faithful steward of the financial gifts entrusted to its care. All activities shall support the mission and philosophy of Transfiguration Church of Oakdale, Minnesota:

Qualifications:
1. Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with a love for the Catholic faith and passion for bringing others into the life of the faith in the Catholic Church.
2. A commitment to and understanding of the Catholic Church and of the mission and vision of Transfiguration.
3. Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with staff, ministry leaders, volunteers, parishioners, and visitors to implement the Pastor’s vision for evangelization. This includes the ability to manage multiple projects, the ability to think strategically, and to adapt behavior and work in response to new people and new information.
4. Ability to communicate positively and effectively with Transfiguration parishioners, leadership, administration, and the broader community.
5. Possess a high level of initiative and flexibility in completing work. Successfully complete the Essential Three requirements—Virtus training, background check, and Code of Conduct.
7. Computer skills that include the use of Microsoft products, email, internet-based programs, and ParishSOFT (as well as others that may arise to successfully perform duties).
Education and Experience:
1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Post-secondary coursework or training in bookkeeping, accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
3. Two or more years of bookkeeping, accounting, accounts-payable, accounts-receivable, payroll, or related financial experience required.
4. Experience working in a Catholic organization or similar environment is preferred.
5. A combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential responsibilities may be considered.
