Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Service Writer / Snow Plow Sales / Snow Plow Service professional to join our team. In this multifaceted role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers needing snow plow equipment, repairs, and maintenance. You will combine your automotive knowledge with sales expertise to recommend the best solutions, write detailed service estimates, and facilitate snow plow sales and service operations. Your energetic approach and mechanical aptitude will ensure customers receive exceptional service while driving revenue growth through upselling and expert advice.
Duties
- Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their needs for snow plow equipment, repairs, or maintenance services
- Write detailed service estimates using estimating software, clearly explaining repair procedures and costs to customers
- Assist customers in selecting appropriate snow plow products and accessories, leveraging upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure timely diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of snow plows and related equipment
- Perform vehicle diagnostics, mechanical inspections, and troubleshoot issues related to transmissions, brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, air brakes, alignments, oil changes, tire services, diesel engine repairs, and other automotive systems
- Manage customer communication throughout the service process to ensure transparency and satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records of service transactions, parts used, and customer interactions; handle cash transactions responsibly
- Promote dealership services by educating customers on auto service management options and recommending additional repairs or upgrades as appropriate
Requirements
- Proven experience in auto service writing or dealership service departments with a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures
- Mechanical knowledge across a broad range of vehicle systems including transmissions, suspensions, brakes, diesel engines, tire services, and collision repair
- Familiarity with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients
- Sales experience with a focus on upselling automotive parts or services; previous automobile sales experience is a plus
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate various vehicles safely
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and cash handling responsibilities
- Dealership experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm for automotive repair and client interaction is essential
