We are looking for an experienced Probate Paralegal to support our growing probate practice on either a part-time or project-by-project basis.
Position Overview
This position is ideal for an experienced probate paralegal who enjoys working independently and can efficiently manage uncontested probate matters from start to finish. We are open to either an ongoing part-time arrangement or a project-based relationship, depending on the candidate's availability and experience.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing deadlines while communicating professionally with clients, courts, and third parties.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file uncontested probate pleadings and related court documents.
- Draft petitions, notices, inventories, accountings, declarations, receipts, and final distribution documents.
- Coordinate court filings and monitor deadlines.
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions, and county courts.
- Gather and organize estate asset information.
- Assist with estate administration from opening through closing.
- Maintain organized electronic files and case management records.
- Work closely with the attorney to ensure matters move efficiently and clients receive exceptional service.
Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of probate paralegal experience.
- Experience handling uncontested probate matters in Oregon.
- Strong understanding of Oregon probate procedures and court filings.
- Excellent drafting, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
- Notary Public commission is a plus, but not required.
Compensation
Compensation is competitive and based on experience. We are open to:
- Part-time employment.
- Contract or freelance arrangements.
- Project-based work for individual probate matters.
