Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Reach Truck Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating reach trucks and other heavy equipment to efficiently handle materials, load and unload shipments, and organize inventory within our distribution center. Your expertise in warehouse management systems and materials handling will ensure smooth operations, accurate order picking, and optimal storage solutions. Responsibilities
- Safely operate reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and other heavy equipment to move materials throughout the warehouse
- Load and unload shipments with precision, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels, update stock locations, and process order pickings
- Assist with order picking using various equipment such as pickers and pallet jacks to fulfill customer orders accurately
- Support shipping and receiving activities by organizing stock for efficient distribution and storage
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with OSHA safety standards
Skills
- Proven experience operating reach trucks, forklift trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and pallet jacks in a warehouse setting
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with warehouse distribution processes including order picking, loading/unloading, and materials handling
- Excellent physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged standing or walking during shifts
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying shipments or inventory counts
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety standards
