Project Manager - Mission Critical Data Center Construction
We are a General Contractor located in Dallas looking to staff our Mission Critical team for upcoming projects in the Dallas and Oklahoma markets. Experience working on Data Center construction in a general contractor is encouraged to apply!
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of mission-critical data center and construction projects. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects on time, on budget, and to required quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing construction in data center environments, understands mission-critical systems (power, cooling, redundancy), and excels at stakeholder communication and risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities

Lead planning, scheduling, and execution of data center construction and fit-out projects from initiation through closeout.

Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost control; ensure projects meet financial targets and contractual commitments.

Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams including engineers, contractors, vendors, and subcontractors; provide clear direction and accountability.

Oversee procurement and vendor management for long-lead equipment and construction materials; negotiate contracts and manage change orders.

Ensure compliance with site safety, quality standards, codes, and regulatory requirements specific to mission-critical facilities.

Monitor project risks and develop mitigation plans; proactively resolve issues to minimize impacts to schedule and performance.

Conduct regular stakeholder updates and status reporting to owners, clients, and senior management; facilitate design and construction meetings.

Manage commissioning activities and handover to operations, including documentation, training, and warranty coordination.

Implement and maintain project controls, schedules (CPM), site logs, RFIs, submittals and as-built documentation.

Drive continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and applying best practices to future projects.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field; relevant certifications (PMP, CCM) preferred.

5+ years of project management experience in mission-critical facilities, data centers, or complex construction projects.

Proven track record managing full project lifecycle in data center environments, including mechanical, electrical, and commissioning processes.

Strong knowledge of data center systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling plants, and redundant architectures (N+1, 2N).

Experience with construction contracts, change management, cost control, and vendor negotiations.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to lead cross-functional teams and manage client relationships.

Proficient with project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, Procore or equivalent) and Microsoft Office suite.

Willingness to travel to project sites and work occasional extended hours to meet project demands.

Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
