Job Overview
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the movement of material from inventory to production, shipping and or warehousing. Maintaining correct paperwork and records is required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes pre-shift/startup equipment checklist and reports any problems or concerns.
- Monitor and maintain inventory
- Stack and secure materials in a safe way
- Provides departments with material according to production or shipping schedules
- Moves finished goods to inventory
- Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area
- Participates in safety and other programs.
- Operate heavy equipment to manage snow accumulation
- Other duties may be assigned or reassigned at any time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proven experience as forklift operator with emphasis on heavy equipment operation
- Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Demonstrates ability to read and follow specific instructions and directions
Education and Experience
- Two years’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience; required with forklift operation.
- Must have a valid state issued driver’s license

While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be outdoors, exposed to the elements. The employee is exposed to heat and cool in the production environment daily. The noise level in the environment is normally loud. This position requires the employee is physically present at the location for most of the responsibilities.
