Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active and unencumbered Registered Respiratory Therapist certification
- Proven pediatric respiratory care experience
- Ability to deliver care across a range of patient acuity levels
- Adaptability within fast-paced hospital environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Administer medicated aerosol therapies (e.g., SVNs, MDI, DPI), including patient education
- Perform airway clearance therapies such as PEP, oscillatory PEP, IPV, cough assist, and percussion techniques
- Deliver airway management (suctioning, tracheostomy care, CPAP/BiPAP/NIMV, manual and mechanical ventilation)
- Participate in high-risk deliveries: surfactant administration, NRP protocol, T-piece ventilation, and neonatal intubation
- Conduct blood gas sampling, analysis, and interpretation
- Apply humidity therapy (heated systems, HME) and oxygen/special gas therapy—including Nitric Oxide and Heliox
- Monitor respiratory status using oximetry, capnography, ventilator graphics, and SBT protocols
- Assist with patient transport using advanced equipment, including HFNC units and T-piece ventilation
- Follow clinical practice guidelines such as Asthma Care Path, RDS management, CF care, and more
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of respiratory equipment
