- Key Responsibilities: Safely mount, dismount, balance, and repair OTR (Off-The-Road), agricultural, industrial, and commercial truck tires. Roadside Assistance: Respond to emergency field service calls to change or repair heavy equipment and semi-truck tires on-site.
- Fleet Inspections: Conduct routine air pressure checks, tread depth measurements, and wear pattern diagnostics to catch safety issues early.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate heavy tire-handling equipment, cranes, and air compressors. Maintain the service vehicle’s inventory, fluid levels, and mechanical condition.
- Safety & Compliance: strictly adhere to TIA, OSHA, MSHA, and DOT safety standards, which includes using proper PPE, safety cages, and following lock-out/tag-out procedures.
- Experience: Requires 1 to 2+ years of commercial, heavy truck, or OTR tire experience.
- Licensing: A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is usually required to drive heavy service trucks.
- Certifications: TIA (Tire Industry Association) Commercial Tire Service certification is highly preferred or required within the first 90 days.
- Physical Stamina: The role is physically demanding, requiring heavy lifting, bending, and working in varied and sometimes harsh outdoor weather and field conditions.
- Work Schedule: Full-time hours with frequent overtime, weekend availability, and after-hours on-call rotations for emergency road service.
