Position Summary
D.G.W. Auctioneers & Appraisers is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Temporary Operations Assistant to support day-to-day auction house functions during an employee leave of absence.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role supporting both front office operations and auction logistics, requiring strong organization, accuracy, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative / Office Support / Customer Service
- Handle front office administrative tasks
- Answer phones and assist client inquiries
- Process basic data entry and auction records
- Interact professionally with buyers, consignors, and walk-in clients
Photography & Listing Support
- Photograph auction items (basic product photography)
- Upload images and descriptions into auction system
Auction Operations
- Assist during live auction days
Schedule
- Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 5-day workweek
- Except once a month: Auction Saturday participation
Compensation
- $24/hour (starting)
- Payroll processed twice monthly
- Temporary role Jul-Sept possible extension
Qualifications
Must-Haves
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on environment
- Basic computer skills (data entry, file handling)
Preferred (but not required)
- Experience in:
- Administrative role
- Basic photography experience (phone is fine)
Duration
- Temporary coverage for employee on medical leave
- Estimated duration: TBD (with potential extension depending on business needs)
Pay: $24.00 per hour
