Duties
- Safely operate a box truck to deliver products to various customer locations, following designated routes and schedules.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices.
- Verify delivery orders, check for accuracy, and obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers.
- Maintain a clean driving record by adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe driving practices at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions or concerns professionally during deliveries and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as inventory management, moving stock within the facility, or preparing shipments for delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Warehouse experience is highly desirable, including familiarity with heavy lifting (we deliver extremely heavy items upwards of 400lbs) and manual handling techniques.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; non-CDL license accepted but must meet state requirements for commercial driving.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and weight handling in the workplace.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, moving goods, and standing for extended periods; safe lifting practices are essential.
- Familiarity with route driving, load & unload procedures, and safe driving habits in various traffic conditions.
- ability to speak and understand Spanish is strongly encouraged.
