The Patient Relationship Specialist & Surgical Coordinator plays a critical role in providing exceptional patient education, surgical coordination, and consultative guidance throughout the patient journey.
This role combines patient counseling, surgical scheduling, lead management, virtual support, and in-person coordination across multiple practice locations. The position primarily supports patients through consultations, procedure preparation, scheduling, financing discussions, and ongoing communication to ensure a seamless and memorable experience.
Travel between practice locations may be required.
Primary Responsibilities
Patient Consultations and Education
- Conduct in-person and virtual consultations with prospective and existing patients regarding vision correction procedures, lens technologies, treatment options, pricing, and financing.
Surgical Coordination
- Assist in managing surgical schedules to maximize efficiency and patient satisfaction.
In-Person Counseling and Travel Support
- Travel to designated practice locations to provide in-person counseling, patient education, and surgical coordination support.
CRM and Sales Process Management
- Utilize CRM systems and digital communication tools to manage patient relationships and sales processes.
Patient Relationship Management
- Deliver a high level of personalized service to create exceptional patient experiences.
Financing and Payment Discussions
- Discuss procedure pricing, financing plans, and payment options with patients.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the Engagement Center, marketing team, physicians, and clinical staff to ensure consistent communication and patient education.
Other Duties as Assigned
- Support additional projects, events, training initiatives, or operational needs as assigned.
Role Distribution

Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in consultative sales, patient counseling, healthcare coordination, surgical scheduling, or customer service.
- Experience in ophthalmology, optometry, aesthetics, elective healthcare, or medical terminology preferred.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), scheduling platforms, telehealth software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace.
- Comfortable using video conferencing tools, screen sharing, and digital presentation platforms.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
