Medical Assistant (Full-time/Part-time)
Location: Primarily in Plainview and Levittown, and Massapequa, NY
We are seeking a compassionate, experienced, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing team. This position is available on a full-time basis and requires flexibility across our three office locations.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant
- Phlebotomy/venipuncture experience required
- Medical Assistant Diploma/Certification from an accredited institution
- Own transportation required
- Bilingual candidates are a plus
- Availability Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays
- Certified Medical Assistant preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature)
- Measure patient height and weight
- Perform EKGs and Spirometry
- Conduct patient intake using EMR: record history, current medications, and reason for visit
- Set up and sanitize exam rooms; stock and order medical supplies
- Assist physicians with minor procedures and specimen handling
- Retrieve lab and test results; request authorizations for medications/procedures
- Support prescription processes and coordinate with pharmacies
- Provide front desk assistance: schedule appointments, answer phones, collect co-payments
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
