Medical Assistant, Reproductive Health & Wellness Focused

About the Position
The Clark County Combined Health District (CCCHD) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and team-oriented Medical Assistant to support our Reproductive Health & Wellness programs. This position provides direct patient care, clerical and billing support, and community health assistance within a public health setting.

Essential Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical support during Reproductive Health & Wellness and TB clinics
- Take vital signs, conduct point-of-care testing, and assist providers during examinations and procedures
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for clinic visits
- Schedule appointments, answer telephones, manage patient records, and complete clerical duties
- Process billing and ensure accurate and timely documentation for clinical services
- Maintain accurate electronic and paper medical records in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
- Support health education, outreach events, and community wellness initiatives
- Assist with inventory management and maintain cleanliness and organization of clinic spaces
- Provide patient education regarding reproductive health, wellness, and disease prevention
- Assist with data collection, reporting, and program documentation
- Support additional clinical programs and public health activities as assigned
This position may also participate in emergency preparedness and response activities, including reporting outside normal working hours during public health emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification required
- CPR certification required within six (6) months of hire
- Valid driver’s license required
- Experience in a community health or public health setting preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Successful candidates will demonstrate:
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Experience using clinical equipment and basic laboratory tools
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and team members
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and billing systems preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, internet research, and general computer applications
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
Physical Requirements
This position regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, speaking, reading, and using standard office and clinical equipment. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds may be required. Some local travel within the community may also be necessary.
