Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional, working overnight shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Also 7am-7pm on Saturday and Sundays.In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to individuals with developmental disabilities, cognitive impairments, and age-related conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer's. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents' vital signs and health status regularly to ensure well-being
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed protocols and document all care activities
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs, especially for residents with dementia or cognitive disabilities
- Support residents with meal preparation, feeding, and ensuring proper nutrition
- Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
- Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling procedures to prevent injury during transfers or repositioning
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and any incidents or concerns
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, long-term care, or residential care home environments
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support, and memory care techniques
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Familiarity with vital signs monitoring, medication administration, CPR, and first aid procedures
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents, families, and team members
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks while maintaining safety standards
- Experience operating a standard passenger car for transportation needs or community outings
- Knowledge of safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques
- Compassionate caregiving attitude with a focus on client-centered support and respect for individual dignity
