The mission of the New Mexico Economic Development Department is to improve the lives of New Mexico families by increasing economic opportunities and
providing a place for businesses to thrive. The Administrative Services Division supports the Department's programs and initiatives by tracking budget, processing grants,
supporting procurement, and administering programs, among other functions.
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing.
Why does the job exist?
This position exists to administer and manage the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI), consisting of a venture capital funding program,
the Collateral Assistance Program (CAP), and a technical assistance funding program.
How does it get done?
1. Provide guidance to lending officers from affiliated banks, lenders, and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to ensure that the financial analysis of their clients meets the criteria for the SSBCI and CAP.
2. Ensure that all investments in the SSBCI and CAP adhere to Federal and State laws and regulations.
3. Communicate with NMFA and other analysts to ensure proper program performance.
4. Advise in the evaluation of data and economic forecasting of the SSBCI and CAP with agency CFO and Deputy Secretary.
5. Prepare program reports for federal and state agencies.

Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Economics, Economic Development, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Historic Preservation, Communications/Journalism, Community Development, Urban Design, Urban / Regional Planning, or any related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (S.T.E.M.) degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience in economic or community development programs. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
Maintain a current driver's license, complete a State of New Mexico defensive driving training course and obtain a state employee defensive driving certificate.
Working Conditions
Office setting, extensive personal computer and telephone usage with extended periods of sitting, occasional travel and presentations. Must be able to lift 25lbs.
