Job Summary
The Channel Planning Specialist supports the development and execution of channel strategies, including new product launches, promotional initiatives, and ongoing business management. This role is responsible for analyzing performance, forecasting demand, and driving execution to achieve revenue growth and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop a strong understanding of distribution channels to identify and prioritize growth opportunities aligned with product strategy, competitive landscape, and revenue goals.
- Support the planning and execution of promotional strategies, ensuring clear and timely communication with field sales teams.
- Analyze sales performance across tools and accessory SKUs; identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including supply chain performance metrics.
- Evaluate operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend actionable improvements.
- Collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams in a matrixed organizational structure.
- Monitor customer order patterns and compare forecasts to improve accuracy.
- Provide analytical support for projects, new business opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
- Partner with field sales to develop and analyze sales forecasts.
- Establish and maintain appropriate inventory targets, including safety stock and replenishment levels.
- Monitor customer inventory levels and proactively communicate risks related to excess, slow-moving, or obsolete inventory.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Inventory management and demand forecasting experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in data analysis and data management (preferred)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and organizational levels
- Knowledge of power tools, accessories, and applications (preferred)
- Understanding of supply chain and logistics processes
- Self-motivated with ability to take ownership of both detailed tasks and larger projects
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a supply chain environment
- Proficiency in data management techniques, including data modeling and cost-benefit analysis
- 1+ years experience in data mining, reporting, and process improvement
- Background in cost modeling, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Experience supporting business operations through reporting and analysis
