About the role
Malatesta Law Office, an employment firm in Venice, FL, is hiring a full-time Associate Attorney for our growing labor and employment practice. Recent law school graduates and bar candidates are encouraged to apply.
We litigate federal employment cases across Florida — discrimination, retaliation, failure to accommodate, wrongful termination, harassment, and wage-and-hour claims under the ADA, Rehabilitation Act § 504, Title VII, ADEA, FCRA, and FLSA — frequently working from EEOC charges and right-to-sue letters.
What you'll do
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Conduct legal research and case analysis
- Prepare EEOC charges and pre-suit demands
- Communicate directly with clients and manage active matters
- Support litigation in all three Florida federal districts and AAA arbitration
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admitted to the Florida Bar, or eligible to sit for an upcoming bar exam
- Strong legal writing and research skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage a busy caseload
- Plaintiff-side or employment law interest a plus (not required)
Compensation & benefits
- $65,000 starting salary, effective August 2026; increases to $85,000 upon Florida Bar admission
- $750/month toward health insurance (reimbursement)
- Discretionary performance bonus targeting $5,000 per quarter in 2027
- In-person role at our Venice office
