Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage and resolve outstanding insurance claims for Ambulance Transports. This role focuses on follow-up, denial resolution, review of payment postings, and ensuring timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with payer and HIPAA guidelines.
Duties
- Key Responsibilities
- Follow up on unpaid and underpaid insurance claims
- Analyze and resolve claim denials and rejections
- Review EOBs/ERAs and identify payment discrepancies
- Submit corrected and appealed claims as needed
- Work aging AR reports to meet productivity goals
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and claim resolution
- Document all actions accurately within billing systems
- Collaborate with billing, coding, and management teams
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer regulations
- Other Duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proven experience in accounts receivable within healthcare or transportation sectors, preferably involving ambulance transports or medical billing.
- Familiarity with medical billing procedures, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding standards, and medical terminology.
- Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail for data entry accuracy and financial analysis tasks.
- Ability to perform 10 key typing at a high speed with precision; strong math skills are essential.
- Strong knowledge of insurance follow-up and denial management
- Knowledge of revenue cycle management principles.
- Strong negotiation skills combined with effective phone etiquette for collections and client communication.
- Experience working with EOBs, ERAs, and payer portals
- Proficiency with medical billing software and computer skills
- Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
