Pianist Wanted – Highlands United Methodist Church (Denver)
Highlands United Methodist Church is seeking a part-time Pianist to provide musical leadership for Sunday worship and special services throughout the year.
We are a progressive, inclusive congregation in Northwest Denver committed to spiritual growth, community connection, and justice-centered ministry. We are looking for a skilled pianist who enjoys collaborating with clergy, singers, and volunteers to create meaningful worship experiences.
Position Details:
- Part-time W-2 employee
- Salary: $11,500–$13,500 annually, depending on experience
- 8 hours annual PTO (equivalent to four Sundays)
- Approximately 4–6 hours per week
- Wednesday evening choir rehearsals
- Sunday morning worship plus special services including Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Blue Christmas
Our worship blends historic Christian tradition with progressive theology, inclusive language, and a commitment to justice. Musical styles range from traditional hymns and sacred music to opera, folk, musicals, jazz-influenced pieces, and contemporary selections.
Qualifications:
- Strong piano and accompaniment skills
- Ability to accompany congregational singing
- Experience in worship settings preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
