Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Dietary Manager to lead our dietary services team in providing exceptional nutrition and meal planning for our residents. This vital role involves overseeing the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health regulations, managing staff, and delivering personalized care that promotes well-being and quality of life. The Dietary Manager will play a key role in developing care plans, supervising dietary staff, and ensuring all nutritional needs are met with professionalism and compassion.
Duties
- Lead the planning, preparation, and presentation of nutritious meals tailored to residents’ individual health needs and preferences.
- Supervise dietary staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated and efficient team.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine specific dietary requirements, including specialized diets such as tube feeding or modified textures.
- Develop and implement care plans that incorporate nutrition goals, medical directives, and lifestyle considerations for each resident.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation standards, and documentation procedures.
- Oversee budgeting for the dietary department, managing inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling costs effectively.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to perform diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition status and adjust meal plans accordingly.
- Provide health coaching to residents on nutrition best practices to support their overall health and wellness goals.
- Supervise the use of specialized equipment such as feeding tubes or other medical devices used in dietary care.
- Maintain accurate records of dietary services provided, resident progress, and departmental activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living or long-term care settings with a focus on dietary management.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, nutrition science, dietetics principles, and care plan development.
- Demonstrated supervisory experience leading teams within a dietary or healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with patient assessment techniques and diagnostic evaluation processes related to nutrition.
- Experience managing dietary departments including budgeting, inventory control, and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of tube feeding procedures, care plans for special diets, and health coaching methods.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative team environment.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
