Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated private home caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own homes. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing for changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring proper food safety and hygiene standards are met.
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans and document medication administration meticulously.
- Support residents with cognitive impairments by implementing memory care strategies, dementia care protocols, and Alzheimer’s care techniques to promote comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and organization of the home to foster a healthy living space.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals on care plans, patient monitoring, and providing holistic support tailored to each individual’s needs.
Skills
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments with individuals who have developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in condition or behavior promptly.
- Knowledge of medication administration, vital signs measurement, first aid, CPR, and hospice or palliative care practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks involving residents’ mobility or household chores.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring privacy and confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Experience supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, geriatrics, or memory-related conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Competence in meal preparation that meets nutritional guidelines for diverse dietary needs while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent caregiving skills combined with compassionate communication to foster trust and comfort for residents of all ages.
