American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with at least 1 year of experience for a night shift travel position at an acute care hospital in Alexandria, LA.

Inpatient respiratory therapy department within an acute care hospital setting
-
Adult patient population
-
Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
Every other weekend required
-
No on-call requirement
-
13-week contract with temp-to-perm potential
-
Current RRT credential issued by the NBRC required
-
Active RT or RCP license in the state of employment required, if applicable

BLS certification via AHA required
-
Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience

US Social Security Number required for consideration

Two professional references required for consideration

Copies of all active certifications required for consideration

Responsibilities include emergency code response, airway management (nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning), aerosolized drug delivery, ventilator setup and management, BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen delivery and monitoring, blood gas collection and analysis, EKG analysis, chest film analysis, and thorough documentation

Advanced practice responsibilities may include therapeutic gas management (INO, HeO2), pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy assist, hemodynamic monitoring, waveform analysis, desaturation studies, polysomnography, and patient transport duties

RRTs may serve in a Shift Leader or Team Leader capacity

Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
