Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival, offering menus and answering initial questions with enthusiasm.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring timely delivery.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, wine pairings, spirits, and cocktail options to enhance the dining experience.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Process sales transactions accurately, including cash handling, credit card processing, and upselling to maximize sales opportunities.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, bar areas, and service stations through bussing and sanitation practices in accordance with food safety standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours.
- Assist with food preparation or food handling when necessary to support kitchen operations.
- Uphold all sanitation standards related to food safety, beverage service, and overall restaurant cleanliness.
- Engage with guests to foster positive guest relations and handle any special requests or concerns promptly.
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and the ability to engage guests effectively.
- Ability to multitask efficiently while managing time effectively during busy shifts.
- Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and handling sales transactions smoothly.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Experience with bussing tables, host/hostess duties, cashiering or guest relations is advantageous.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
