Job Overview
Ivybrook Academy South Scottsdale is seeking a passionate, collaborative, flexible, and dependable educator to join our preschool community.
This position will serve as a floating educator, providing support in classrooms across multiple age groups, from toddlers through Pre-K. The ideal candidate is comfortable adapting to different classroom environments, routines, developmental levels, and teaching teams throughout the day.
Our educators support a nurturing, respectful, and engaging learning environment inspired by the Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches. Key Responsibilities
- Provide classroom support across toddler, twos, threes, and Pre-K classrooms as needed.
- Assist lead educators with daily learning experiences, small-group activities, transitions, and classroom routines.
- Build warm, responsive, and respectful relationships with children.
- Support children’s social and emotional development through positive guidance, reflective listening, redirection, and age-appropriate conflict resolution.
- Adapt quickly and professionally to the routines and expectations of different classrooms and age groups.
- Help maintain beautiful, intentional, organized, and engaging classroom environments.
- Supervise children closely and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist with arrival, classroom transitions, snack, toileting or diapering, outdoor play, and other daily care routines.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment.
- Observe children and communicate relevant information to the lead educator and administrative team.
- Work cooperatively with educators, administrators, and families.
- Uphold the philosophy, mission, values, policies, and professional expectations of Ivybrook Academy.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, school functions, and required training when applicable.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and school matters.
- Assist the administrative team with additional classroom or campus responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a minimum of six months of experience working with children in a licensed childcare, preschool, early childhood, educational, or comparable group setting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Early childhood education coursework, credentials, or a degree in early childhood or elementary education is preferred.
- Must be willing and able to work with children ranging from toddlers through Pre-K.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Dependable, punctual, organized, and adaptable.
- Ability to follow classroom plans, routines, licensing requirements, and school policies.
- Ability to respond calmly, patiently, and professionally to the changing needs of young children.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
- Passion for early childhood education and supporting the development of young children.
- Must meet all applicable Arizona childcare licensing, background-check, fingerprint-clearance, and training requirements.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move between classroom learning areas.
- Sit on the floor and actively engage with young children.
- Lift or assist children when necessary.
- Supervise children indoors and outdoors.
- Respond promptly and appropriately in an emergency.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
